Namibian Amatuer Sports Ministry. Organizes and regulates amatuer sports in the Republic of Namibia. Charter member of Sub-Saharan African Sports Organization (SASO), also member of Pan African Sports Union.
Founded in 2002 by order of President Sam Shafishuna Nujoma and initially organized by Prime Minister Theo-Ben Gurirab with funding from the National Council. Omon Davenbos (Light of Youth in Oshivambo language) adminsisters all male and female amatuer sports in Namibia.
Recently Omon Davenbos has formed a ministry to assist Namibian athletes in efforts to use their skills for educational and professional opportunities overseas.
