Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
ADSL is a fully digital, dedicated connection to the telephone system that provides download speeds up to 9 Mbps and upload speeds up to 1Mbps over PSTN lines. Internet service providers must support ADSL. The most common ADSL installation includes and ADSL modem connected to a telephone jack and to a network interface card (NIC) in the computer.

ADSL - Short for Assymetrical Digital Subscriber Line. A type of internet faster than the usual Modem, but slightly slower than the Broadband.
