A location now located in Belarus, known for the massacre undertaken in a forest nearby, through the soviets upon polish officers in 1940. They tried to accuse the Germans for it. Until Boris Jelzin stated the truth, it was officially forbidden in Poland to say the Soviets did it.
About 20000 Poles have been murdered there, one by one. Even more soviet citizens have been killed there. A few hundred meters away was a sanatorium for vacations of high ranking officials from the communistic parties. It was used frequently by Stalin, before and after the massacre.
Near Katyn is a forest.

A polish marshal who defeated Lenin in the 20ties, thus stopping the red invasion of Europe. Many young Polish people died honorable in this war. He imprisoned the reds who died as cannibals. He died 1938, Göring attended his funeral, together with others paying him tribute. The soviets/reds forbid to speak and teach in history about him throughout the second Polish Republic.

Together with Sobieski the most significant polish leader.
