Battle rap is a written down diss track oppose to a Freestyle Battle that come from the top of your head. The term “Battle rap” has been around since the 80’s and “Freestyle battle” has been around since the 90’s. There are two types of Battle raps. A diss and a reply. A diss is attacking a person and a reply is a response to the attack. Sometimes the artist would hijack the person beats he is dissing to make it personal.
A battle rap can get really personal and even start fights in public.

The slang usuage of "Flow" in Hip-Hop changed thru out the years. its meaning is constantly evolving thru out the generations. but some people today still use the old terms to express certain things cuz theres no words for what they are trying to say. but here are when they came around... the dates maybe off a year or two.

(1989 to 1996) To rap fast in a straight line and to roll your tongue to make it sound even faster. back in the early 90's this technique was the newest thing to do and hardly heard in a Rap song.

(1996 to 2005) To "Rap." at this time it was simplified and bastardized to its simplist meaning.

(2005 to now) To Rap with a Unique Melodic Rap Style.
(1989 to 1996) Example: "He busted a flow after the break down."
(1996 to 2005) Example: "Can You Flow?"
(2005 to Now) Example: "Ah That dudes wack he got no flow!!!"

Original: Interlocked Letters
Contemporary: Unreadable Letters

coined by "Tracy 168" in 1975, it is orginally the name of his crew. but when they began writing the name next to their pieces, people thought they were explaining the style they were using. which were letters that "interlocked" it was a personal style they developed. but the pieces were readable. this is the orginal term. but through the years and by the graffiti masses the term evolved to "Unreadable Letters".
(Original) Example: Oh, I dig that Wild Style Man!!!
(Contemporary) Example: I don't know where the letter starts and ends in that Wild Style!

The term "Peace" originated in the "1950's-1960's" but the phrase "Peace Out" originated in the Hip Hop Community in 1988-1992. people were wearing peace symbols on their clothing or wearing necklaces as a fashion statement. and saying "Peace Out" to say "goodbye."

A Police officer. especially the ones that rides on bikes.

Circa 1986

Police officers that patrols certain beaches on bikes wore a vest that said PO in huge blockletters on each of their chest. which means “Police Officer.” they usually ride around in group of two's.

when they stand around you read the word "PO" "PO" across their uniforms.

In modern times it means any law enforcers.
