An acronym for Trans Rights Activist. As distinguished from transgendered people in general, TRA is usually reserved as a pejorative for those who are perceived as the most demanding or politically extreme among trans folk.
" I'm not talking about TRAs am I? I'm talking about trans ppl and the nasty language used about them- many of whom are not TRAs ..."
"'It was just a joke'. So If i say punch trannies in the throat (i dont use the tranny term just using it as id consider it as offensive as TERF) and claim its "just a joke" the TRA's would totes be ok with that?"

Common acronym for a TERF Rights Activist, the transphobic counterpart of MRAs (Mens Rights Activists) and intentionally modelled after them.
TRAs push the narrative that being transgender is a mental illness, that trans women are really men, that trans men are still women, that there is no spectrum of sex/gender ("because biology!" -- despite biologists disagreeing with them).
While they claim to be radically feminist, they promote and support a patriarchal and regressive view of womanhood that defines women by their ability to bear children.

The TRA and MRA contingents were out in force at Pride Saturday, throwing around their transphobic and sexist rhetoric.
