A word commonly used by those of African descent in areas of low income (the hood) to get the attention of others of African descent (your boys). Is not exclusively for use by those of African descent, but will not be well received if used around them while not being of African descent. If you have a friend of African descent and he gives you permission to use the word then you may use it, but still use with caution.
