how are you 

Oft used as a do-not-bother-replying greeting, "how are you" represents the impersonalization of modern society stretched to an extent never witnessed before. It is however still okay to use it as long as you genuinely care.

EXAMPLE 1
Person A: Hi, how are you?
Person B: How are you?
(Conversation over)

EXAMPLE 2
Person A: Hi, how are you?
Person B: Like you care.

One who has half-ass attitude towards things, usually due to lack of interest.

I do not understand the halfassitude shown by my younger brother, especially when doing things not for himself.

Vulcan

In Roman mythology, the god of fire.
Greek equivalent: Hephaestus

Although these days the term Vulcan is most commonly used to refer to a (fictional) Star Trek race, it has its originations in Roman mythology.
