You have to take a state-approved course and pay some considerable fees to become a CHL holder in Texas, but it's worth it.

Short for Double Action, describing revolvers that can be fired repeatedly merely by pulling the trigger; this action cocks the hammer, rotates the cylinder to the next available chamber, and fires the round in that chamber, all in one fluid motion. Most DA revolvers can also be fired in SA (Single Action) mode, unless it is a DAO (Double Action Only).
The Ruger GP100 is a mighty fine, very reliable modern DA revolver.

1. Literally, the German word for the color black.
2. Derogatory Yiddish slang for black person, equivalent to the N-word. A Jewish person using the term "Schwarze" while speaking English is being racist.
1. "Die Deutsche Fahne ist schwarz-rot-gold" - Germany's flag is black-red-gold

2. Person 1: I can't believe she's dating a Schwarze.
Person 2: Man, they're in love--don't be such a racist asshole.

.45 "Long Colt" cartridge. 45 LC is not considered a proper designator, but is nevertheless widely used colloquially. Usually fired out of Old West-model Single Action revolvers by Cowboy Action Shooting enthusiasts, but will also fit modern double-action revolvers that are chambered to fire the .454 Casull round. Replaced by the .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) round.
I want a Ruger New Vaquero stainless with ivory grip, in 45 LC, please.

45 LC is a powerful cartridge, but the .357 mag is a superior round. Wouldn't you prefer a Uberti Cattleman's in .357 magnum? You could always shoot .38 special if you're on a budget.

If it existed, it some would say it to be the exact opposite of Urban Dictionary. In reality, Urban Dictionary is just a subset of a truly Urbane Dictionary, ideally conceived.
One would perhaps not expect to find offensive slang, misspellings or incorrect grammar in the Urbane Dictionary. Urban Dictionary however? Par for the course, old boy. The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is quite urbane, though congnizant of urban slang. A good, truly urbane dictionary, however, would not seek to be prescriptive, it would faithfully report usage, both vulgar and sublime, without overt judgement or censorship. Thus, the OED and Urban Dictionary truly need each other, in the grand scheme of things.
