A 1979 cult classic film derived from the book The Warriors by Sol Yurick about gangs in New York. The gang leader of the largest gang in the city ((gang= The Riffs) (leader= Cyrus)) calls an incline truce between all of the gangs in New York and sets a meeting of many of the major and smaller time gangs. Cyrus speaks about joining all of the gangs together to form one single gang and attempt to take over the city. At the meeting, Cyrus is assasinated by Luther, the leader of a gang called the Rouges and the Warriors are framed. The Warriors have to then make it all the way back to their turf, Coney Island and avoid being killed or captured by enemy gangs trying to find The Warriors for big Reputation.

A book written by sol yurik, an excellent one at that, about teenage/young adult street gangs around the 1960s, i think. Later this was produced into a film, although the film differs slightly from the book.

The main gang in the cult movie "The Warriors"(1979). Mainly know as The Warriors, Warriors is a sort of nick-name. The Warriors are framed by The Rogues for killing New York's largest gang's(Riffs) president and have to fight their way to their home, Coney Island. During their journey home they encounter gangs such as the Turnbull AC's, Baseball Furies, The Lizzies and The Punks. Once they get home The Rogues confront them at the Coney Island beach and The Warriors and The Rogues have a stand-off. The Riffs show up and know The Warriors were framed(a boy from another gang told the Riffs) and let the Warriors go while they beat down the Rogues. See The Warriors
