Dragonball Z was created by Akira Toriyama in the 1980's, He also created Dragonball the series that started before Z. Dragonball Z has a fantastic cast of charcters like Goku,Gohan,Vegeta,Piccolo,Yamcha,Tien and Krillen who are the good guys in the series. There are also some brilliant bad guys as well like Cell Frieza,Buu,Nappa and Raditz.
Dragonball Z has some brilliant stroylines and the complex of the story is very interesting with the saiyans who's power increases after every battle. The nameks who are wise and are the creators of the dragonballs, They can also regenerate any limb which is a handy techique.
Dragonball Z is not really aimed at a young audiance because there is too much detail in the storyline, those who say that it is aimed at children have not actually wacthed the series.

1. "Anime" or so called TV show that first aired in Japan, Dragon Ball Z is a show watched by youth. Dragon Ball Z is, without a doubt, horribly un-entertaining, violent, and just plain stupid. Many typical children still watch this "Tv Show", which I would find those children mentally retarded, unless they we're young.

Dragon Ball Z (also known as DBZ or just simply DragonBallz), is a show about a bunch of battle-hardened, 'roid enraged, angry, and constipated super-apes who spend 28 minutes of each episode telling each other about how they're going to kick each others' asses and then spend the other 2 minutes yelling in constipation. Their power is stored in their ballz, which they all stole from dragons because they had none of their own. They have to drag these Dragon Balls around with them, thus they are Draggin' Balls. Hence the name of the show. It is like anime crack. Almost all serious otaku started by watching DBZ and moved onto other shows to try to fill the sorry fact that most of them have no life. Five countries have banned the series because they feared that the economy would collapse if they allowed this into their nations. Most economic problems can be traced to the addition of this show to the regular TV line up in countries where it appears. The show bears more than a passing resemblance to professional wrestling.

A boring show watched by kids. IF watched by anyhone older, there IS something fucking wrong with you. Battles that drag on for 40 + episodes to see the bad guy finally get beaten gets old when every bad guy that HAS to be beaten is always 40 + episodes. The story gets too boring to care, and in the end when they DO fight, its just poor repeated scenes in which the characters engage in some blinding flashes of light. The flashes of light indicate that they are fighting I guess, because nothing else ever seems to happen in the show anyway. Real popular, and real homosexual.
