Renegades from the Wu Tang temple in Northern China. They perfected the Wu Tang sword style and then left the temple to run thier own clan. History sometimes says that they are murderous people but there are two sides to every story and sometimes history doesn't capture both sides.
The Wu Tang Clan were what is described above, not to be confused with a rap music group that adopted thier name. In America you can pay enough money and just about copyright any word or phrase in my opinion.

The Wu Tang Clan. A legendary Rap Group consisting of nine members:RZA,GZA,ODB(R.I.P.),Masta Killa,Ghostface Killah,UGOD,Method Man,Raekwon,Inspectah Deck.
Hailing From New York, they brought a raw element into Hip Hop. There tracks contained no polished radio hooks, or commercial gain support. Instead providing Violent, Raw Punch lines through most of the tracks, layed over Adrenaline Rushing Beats. Rap group originating in Staten Island (aka Shaolin), NY. Two cousins, The GZA and the RZA founded it, with RZA bein the leader. The group includes U-God, Raekwon the Chef, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, the late Ol Dirty Bastard, Method Man, and Masta Killa.
Their group came up with backronyms as well, including "Witty Unpredictable Talent And Natural Game", "Wisdom, Universe, Truth, Allah, Nation, and God" and "We Usually Take All Niggaz Garments".
