Black Tulip

The Black Tulip was an Antonov An-12 transport plane that would infamously carry dead / severely injured soldiers during the Soviet-Afghan War and the Chechen War.

Russian Soldier, 1995: "Last night a Chechen bastard hit our tank. Our tank mechanic is dead, he'll be coming home in a black tulip."

Black Tulip

The Black Tulip, aka the An-12 is a Soviet-made transport military aircraft that saw most of its service in the First Russo-Chechen War and the Soviet-Afghan War. The aircraft infamously carried dead soldiers back home. Today, it is scarcely used for cargo, civilian transport and even still in military service in other small countries.
