Pleasantville

People had missed the way that people once respected one another no matter what they looked like, and it was a lot to ask everyone to abandon that all so that one dork could get all the respect she thought everyone in a town she wasn't even originally from owed her. She was more like the girl that moved from somewhere almost like Pleasantville (except not in the 1950's) to the nearest mid-sized city and thought that she was there to save everyone from Pleasantville (of the 1950's), when really she was the closest thing to Pleasantville left and didn't even know it. She thought she was on the cutting edge of feminism or civil rights and was a champion of it in much the same way that Jim Jones thought he was a champion of civil rights in his own life altering disruptive way. Jim Jones was also from a small town before moving to a mid sized city claiming to "enlighten" them all and save them from themselves, and he wasn't making anything better or stronger by being there.

Reptilian boy girl

Someone you might think had a sex change when you meet them.
William's eldest daughter was a natural tomboy, she was always close to her father as a kid and enjoyed doing stuff with him, but his youngest daughter Caindace, who seemed to be as much of a tomboy on the surface as her sister, was actually one strange kid beneath the surface, always trying to turn peace talks into arguments where somebody fought or ended up getting shot dead, always claiming self defense, always looking for a scapegoat, someone she saw as ahead of her in line to assassinate to become the first in line, even if it was her own brothers or sisters that she had to get rid of to walk all over their corpses. She was the kind of Reptilian boy girl that went mostly unnoticed, while everyone seemed to be paying attention to/suspicious of the male Reptilian boy girls.

Sega

No matter who tries to tell you it was the fan favorite of it's day (and doesn't know what they are talking about) Sega was the beloved underdog of the home video game console world of the early 90's, the company that stood up to Nintendo and for a few years, did well enough that it was either Sega or Nintendo for a lot of kids of the 90's. Sega wasn't known for games quite as cartoonish or child oriented as Nintendo, Sega had blood, guts, gore, and realism in it's games (which people didn't see much before the early 90's in video games) which was appreciated by the people or kids that didn't want every one of their games Disneyfied or G-rated, even if it wasn't as profitable or popular with the masses to sterilize the games. It's a shame Sega didn't figure out a way to remain in the video game console market into the 2000's and beyond.
Nintendo seems kind of like anything Disney, cartoonish and fantasy up front, cuthhroat with a hidden dagger behind the scenes. At least with Sega many of the more vicious things about their business took place in the games themselves.

Middle ground

Copromise.
Middle ground, common ground, compromise, negotiation, or any other way you want to say it, is one side getting the best of another. There are things you have to keep fighting for to keep the ground you have, there is no room for compromise.

Poser

Someone trying to push an agenda of equality, justice, and hope, even though none of it is anything to them, none of it was ever sacred enough to them to be anything to them. Two sides don't have to agree or get along to be equal, since equality never meant any two people ever had to get along or agree on anything. Equality also doesn't mean two people have to be friends because they are equal. People are not better or worse than their enemies.
The poser claimed to be for equality, justice, reform, and hope, but really those were all surface matters in her power struglle for control of a town she wasn't originally from, and one that would never really be anything to her besides a playground.

Mr. Bean

For the people that like a good joke but wonder how funny is this when a crook that looks like Mr. Bean puts a knife to their throat, that isn't the most hilarious thing that could happen to somebody. A Mr. Bean lookalike with the same menacing look hovering over somebody with the twin movie prop mini uzis is funnier than that actually.
Mr. Bean was not a gentleman in that movie, he was a bad seed.

Tonya Harding

Someone that had more than one adversary (someone that stood up against/opposed her) in life to end up either mysteriously getting killed, or mysteriously getting injured, despite not having any direct involvement in the events.
For someone who was not involved directly in any of the incidents, people that weren't on Tonya Harding's side sure did have some bad things happen to them.
