Electronics; Alternating Current;
A current which follows the pattern of a Sine wave. The voltage increases, reaches a peak, dips, goes into the negative, reaches a trough, curves up again back through 0 Volts into positive.

A.C. is used as a mains voltage supply because it can be efficiently stepped up and down from the power plant and can be transported through relatively small cables across the country due to the current being stepped down and the voltage increased to around 270kV so you get the same power, but you dont need huge cables. See also D.C.

Skidmark

<noun>
1) Rubber that has been scorched into the road due to the heat caused by friction from someone's tyres when either they brake too hard or have accelerated too quickly from a stopping position and caused a 'burnout.'
2) Stains left on underwear due to poor anal hygiene which indeed resemble the tyre-marks scorched into the road.

1) "Whoa dude, look at that skidmark in the road! Someone must've had to brake to avoid that ominous pool of blood next to that body there."
2) MOTHER: "David, if I find another skidmark in your underpants when I come to wash them, I'm gonna come up there and wash your arse myself you little shit!"

==> The word 'Über' is taken from German and is used in exactly the same way by an English slang speaker as a German speaker would. Über in German literally means 'Over' or 'Above' and is often merged with other German words to emphasise their excellence. e.g. "Übersoldat" or "Over-soldier" literally translated. In English, we would sooner say, "Super-soldier", but the meaning is the same.

Other variations:-

µber;

Variant on the spelling of 'Über' with exactly the same meaning only the 'Ü' is replaced with the greek letter 'µ' (Myu).
This is an informal and localised variant and would never be used in formal text.
