Microblogging is a form of blogging that allows users to write brief text updates (usually less than 200 characters) and publish them. Among the early popular microblogging services are Twitter and Jaiku.
People have been microblogging since the late 1990s. Back then of course, not even the word 'blog' had been coined yet, but that shouldn't stop a real geek.
