the same thing as the key in basketball. The rectangular area extending out towards half court from the baseline. Usually painted a different color from the rest of the court.

tear drop

similar to a euro step but consists of a complete shot while moving directly towards the basket. Used in basketball

Davis: What the hell is the difference between a euro step & tear drop
Trey: Tear drop is for driving completely up the paint using your knee to push the defender off of you

euro step

the quick transition in basketball from dribbling to pivoting to jumping all in the same motion of a lay-up.

Davis attempted to do a euro step but did it incorrectly so Trey had to teach him all over again.
