AAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH! reading these definitions by REDNECK yanks makes me so angry. Limey means someone from England, an Amercian term and as they think, insult. Good one, saying that some British sailors used to eat limes? Please no more! Whereas I could say you fat yank, BURGERY or DONUTTY, haha funny innit you twats. 'Limeys' are the BEST people in the world, ( no i'm not biased) and are so much better because we are not part of America, and although we haven't got the brightest button in the jar for a political leader, at least he isn't a redneck. A word used to describe the most annoying people on earth. Although they may think they sound more 'sophistocated' 'proper' when they talk like they have a pipe up their ass, it is very annoying to the rest of the world. And fyi, being 'proper' is only for wrinkly old laidies. (The accent is also very unattractive.) They have bad dentistry, which leaves most of the population to have jacked up teeth, which is not very appealing. And their tea that they're so god damn obsessed with. It's called COFFEE. The food in their country is damn plain, too, and tastes worse than a foot. And the names for stuff..like who the hell came up with 'loo' for bathroom/restroom. Bloke, wanker, bloody hell, 'have a go', etc. are some words used, and only used, by a limey.

Only a limey would say loo instead of bathroom.

A slang term, usually an insult, for the British. Used in old moviee before modern slang took hold, eg: Donovans Reef. Limeys are commonly snobbish, self absorbed and rude, and must be dealt with extreme prejudice.

Limey

A word Americans use to describe an English or British person. Comes from when British sailors used to eat limes to avoid scurvy. Although some entries have described the phrase as derogatory, it's really not that offensive at all, certainly nothing like the N-word, for example. It depends on the context, if the American uses it affectionately, the Briton should have no reason to be offended. If the American uses it while hurling abuse and expletives at the Briton, than their whole tone is what's offensive rather than the use of the word "limey".

American: Hey there limey, how's it going in England?
Englishman: Fine thanks, are you alright?

Cab Driver: What, no tip? You cheap limey cocksucker!
Englishman: Well in Britain we don't tip EVERYONE, you Yank twat!
