A sympathetic shipper, in the world of fandom, is one whose shipping behaviour comes from joining in with their friends and peers. As a result, they generally have a wide range of ships, but are less obsessive over them. It is unusual for them to have an OTP as they can switch quickly between ships for different conversations.

sympathetic transgenderism is a lesser known phenomenon in which the friend of a transgender person may experiment or toy with the notion of being transgendered themselves. this person may do this to better understand their friend, or better understand their own sexual identity. sympathetic transgender people may experiment by wearing clothes opposite to their usual gender assigned attire, joining trans pride parades and using genital prosthetics.

The most painful disease known to man. According to the McGill Pain Scale, RSD also known as CRPS, ranks higher than childbirth and cancer in pain. Nicknamed the "suicide disease", it is a progressive disorder that develops most often after surgery or a simple injury such as a broken bone. The sympathetic nervous system freaks out, and the limb does not heal correctly. The person is left with debilitating burning pain. The disease can spread to other limbs, and to the internal organs once central sensitization occurs. All body systems are affected including bones, skin, blood vessels, etc.
